105.Podere La Sterza is situated in the Tuscan countryside, Commune of Chianni, Province of Pisa, near Andrea Bocelli’s Teatro del Silenzio, 30 minutes drive from Volterra and is unique for its original and characteristic style.
The stone building was once the master house and has been recently beautifully restored maintaining the original wooden beams and in some parts the stone walls; the grounds around the house have also been arranged with great care. The house is 500 square metres and has 6 bedrooms which can comfortably accommodate a total of 13 + 2 persons (an extra bed can be added in the two larger rooms); 6 bathrooms, one of which is on the ground floor near the living room; a large dining room and living room; a spacious professional kitchen; a laundry with drying machine; a store room. The kitchen and dining room open on a veranda where there is an authentic old country table around which the guests can have their meals during the summer.
The guests can also relax in the large swimming pool (8x16m) with nearby gazebo to shelter from the sun.
105.Podere La Sterza constitutes of 3 buildings and is situated on Strada Provinciale per Miemo at km 6 (SP14), in the Commune of Chianni (Pisa). It is isolated (at 6 km is the hamlet La Sterza, where there is a restaurant, a gas station and a few houses) but not too much as the owners live on the grounds.
Below flows the Sterza, a torrent which gives its name to the area and that runs through fields and woods that during the hunting season are full of hunters. Behind the house and all around are the gentle Tuscan hills, characterised by cypresses and sunflowers framing the 20,000 square metres of land that belong to the villa, 2000 of which have are the garden.
The central building, once the master’s house, is the guest house.
The furninshing, unique in its kind, comprehend antique, modern and ethnical pieces. The decorations are modern and original, and can be particularly appreciated in the surprising bathrooms.
On the ground floor there is the entrance, a bathroom, a spacious dining room, that can house up to 30 people, with a large fireplace, and that communicates with the kitchen. Both these rooms open on the veranda.
Behind the kitchen is a store room and a small laundry with dryer.
In this part of the house there also is a double room with bathroom that may be used for domestics or guests that have difficulties with the stairs.
From the entrance are the stairs leading to the upper floor where there are the bedrooms which all open on the large living room with satellite TV and DVDs. There are two double rooms (if requested an extra bed can be added); a triple room with double bed and single sofa bed; and a suite with a bedroom with double bed and a living room with two possible beds – the two rooms communicate but have also separate entrances (ideal for a couple with children) and a bathroom with shower and bathtub.
