Varied programme of summer activities available. A good network of footpaths
covers the area. Walks can be undertaken privately or in groups, similarly visits to the high pastures and to the glaciers with official leaders. Mountain guides organise climbs to surrounding summits, rock-climbing on cliffs and the Via Ferrata.
Para-gliding lessons.100 km of tracks for mountain-bikes. Tennis courts. Trout
fishing in river or lakes.
Cultural activities include guided visits of the villages, different excursions based on life on the high pastures, cheese-making in the dairy, man and plants, streams and their use in making electricity, their source in glaciers.
Evening entertainments include concerts, story-telling, conference-slideshows,
cinema, traditional evening.
A certain number of handicraft markets take place. The important feast day is August 15th, with demonstrations of climbing, rescue by helicopter, and in the afternoon a procession with floats and groups of dancers and singers...the folklore event of the year!
Winter activities include cross-country skiing, the chalet being almost on the run, and close to a walk for pedestrians. Downhill skiing facilities are also well developed. All this in the heart of the Swiss Alps! Snowshoe treks are organised and a natural ice-rink is available, equipped with floodlights.
A full programme of cultural events is also organised.
A visitor's pass is available to all guests..the carte d'hôte, and gives reductions to a variety of events. It has to be collected from the tourist office. It is free.
