Cala Montgo is a region of L'Escala situated along the headland that forms the Bay of Roses. Montgo is peaceful and very picturesque. It has lovely peaceful beaches. L'Escala itself is one of the smaller resorts along the Costa Brava. Renowned for it's anchovy products and ancient ruins. The older centre of town is a delight of small streets, cool and shaded in the summer but equally delightful out of the main season. Riels has a comfortably sized beach and pedestrian promenade newly renovated this winter. With a number of bars and restaurants. The beach is very child friendly and calm. Empuries is famous for its Roman ruins and unspoilt beaches andis a short drive. In all there are 4 easily accessible beaches in L'Escala with the EU blue flag, many more are a short distance away.
L'Escala is on the Costa Brava Coast on the Bay of Roses. Taking the main motorway from Girona Airport north toward France. Take exit 5 signed L'Escala and follow the signs into the town. You will be met at the information centre or the property with the keys
