This former half-timbered barn has been completely restored and is fully capable of meeting the most stringent requirements for having a good holiday. The barn is connected to the Hoeve Birven Huis (NL-6294-02). The unit is splendidly located in the hamlet of Cottessen and offers a place for eight people. The accommodation has a truly unique location on a small hill on the Geul, a fast-flowing river in the nice hamlet of Cottessen just inside the Netherlands. This hamlet is a quiet area in the Boven -Geuldal, where on the one side you are looking at the place where the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet, and on the other side you’ll see the Belgian hills. There is no traffic due to the fact that the house is on the end of a dead-end road, so you’ll be able fully to enjoy the peace and relax from the stress you might normally be used to.
The hikers below you imagine they’re in paradise, following a trail which begins at the front door and continues along the Geul, into the hills, in order then to enjoy a strong abbey beer in a typical Limburg or Belgian café. Nor do cyclists or mountain bikers have much to complain about – they’re surrounded by the nature of the area, green and hills.
Those who are into golf will find the Sippenaeken golf course immediately upon arrival, where one can go golfing without having to be a member. Distances in the area are: Vaals 5, Maastricht 25, Aken 15 and Liège 35-minute drive away.
