Select below the rental unit of which you would like to see the details: * SITUATION Domaine de Gavaudun is a splendid property with 35 ha (87 acres) of undulating fields and woods. It is a calm green oasis perfectly situated in the south of historic Périgord, the land of a thousand châteaux, near Quercy, Gascony and Guyenne, in the region of the Bastides. It is in the heart of the picturesque Gavaudun Valley, 8 km from Fumel, 55 km from Agen, 50 km from Bergerac and 55 km from Cahors. The TGV high speed train from Paris, Bordeaux and Toulouse stops at Agen. Bordeaux and Toulouse airports are 2 hours away and there are two regional airports at Bergerac and Agen at your disposition. Car required. * DISCOVERING THE REGION Gavaudun is a typical and small village, dominated by its 11th century castle with a remarkable dungeon. It is nestled between the valleys of the Lot and the Dordogne rivers and is close to the majestic châteaux of Biron and Bonaguil as well as the bastides of Monflanquin and Monpazier. You can find the house of Bernard Palissy 6km away… Sarlat and its festival 65 km away… Rocamadour, Saint Emilion, Les Eyzies, Cahors, Moissac and many other exceptional sites are awaiting your visit. Périgord is also particularly renowned for its fine cuisine: duck, truffles, cepe mushrooms, foie gras, … with a glass of wine from Bergerac, Monbazillac, Cahors, … What a pleasure to walk around the local markets ! Lastly, to please all, there are numerous cultural events organised around. The staff of the Domaine would be happy to suggest interesting visits and sight seeing. Delightfully peaceful, it is truly unique of its kind and quality in the area. The villas, traditional constructions of Perigordian style, consist of two vacation rental units, with sleeping capacity between 4 and 7 people each, depending on the type. These villas offer you all the modern day comforts to make a very pleasant holiday. A few detached houses are also available. The original farm buildings dating from the 18th century, constructed from regional ochre stone, have been tastefully restored. They include the restaurant, bar and rest area, front office, five rustic hotel rooms and a few lodges. The “centre of life” is arranged around a superb barn (bar-common area) and a large swimming pool, allowing you to relax and leave the children to run around. Beautiful walks are marked through woods and meadows, with frolicking horses and ponies for your enjoyment.
