Praia d'El Rey is located about 1 hours drive from Lisbon and situated in an unspoilt area of Portugal right on the Atlantic coast, offering miles of spectacular beaches, sand dunes, beautiful pine forests and a wealth of sport and leisure activities.It is also located west of the ancient town of Obidos and close to the picturesque fishing village of Peniche. A visit to the walled town of Obidos is a must for not only the history and the views from the castle walls but also for the shopping in the narrow cobbled streets.There are also some very good restaurants within the walls of the city. Peniche a historic picturesque fishing town with its 16th century fortress is known for its seafood restaurants which are excellent and inexpensive. During the summer day trips to the Berlengas Islands (National Park) can be taken. Baleal is between Praia d'El Rey and Peniche and this is a very popular bay for surfers all over the world.
